Privacy policy
Rajput Rishta is a matrimony app for Rajput families. Parents and families make a profile for a son or daughter, the samaj committee verifies it, and verified families find each other. This policy says what the app collects, why, who sees it, where it is kept, for how long, and what you can do about it.
What we collect
Your sign-in
You sign in with your Google account through Google's Firebase Authentication. We receive and keep your email address and the Firebase account identifier; we never see your Google password. The app sends no email and no SMS.
The profile your family fills in
- Basics: the candidate's first, middle and last name, gender, date of birth, height, weight, blood group, marital status, mother tongue, the country and city, town or village they live in (and residency status outside India), the father's native village, and a postal address with PIN code.
- Community: gotra, and the surname and native village of the mother's family and of the father's mother's family.
- Education and career: education level, qualification, specialisation, college, employment, industry, occupation, designation, employer, work place, and optionally an annual income band.
- Family: the father's and mother's status and occupation, the mother's first name, brothers and sisters (elder or younger, marital status, the family they married into), family type and values.
- Horoscope: rashi, manglik, shani, time and place of birth.
- Lifestyle and health: diet, drinking, smoking and tobacco, body type, physical status, health condition and an optional health note, languages spoken, and an About text.
- Contact numbers: the candidate's, the father's and the mother's mobile number, at most one each.
- Partner preferences: age, height, marital status, cities, field of education, industry, diet and manglik.
Photos
Up to six photos of the candidate. When a photo is uploaded the app's server turns it into a display copy, a blurred copy and a thumbnail, removes every piece of embedded information (including the camera's location data), and deletes the original.
Verification
To verify a profile the family uploads a photo of a government ID and takes a live selfie in the app's camera. The selfie is taken only with a fresh, precise GPS position of the phone, which is stored with it (latitude, longitude, accuracy and time) and shown to the committee. Gallery pictures are not accepted for the selfie.
What you do in the app
- Interests you send and answer, your shortlists, the families you block or ignore, reports you file, and the events you register for.
- Every change made to a profile, field by field, with its time.
- The visit log: every time you open another family's profile, the app records who opened whom and when. Members never see this log; the committee does.
- Your agreement to the samaj guidelines and this policy, with the version and time.
- Your settings: who may see your photos, whether your income and your last-active time are shown, and which notifications you want.
Your phones and sign-ins
- For each phone you use: an installation identifier the app creates, the phone model, platform and app version, and the push token Firebase Cloud Messaging gives the app so it can notify you.
- The sign-in log: every sign-in attempt, successful or not, with its time, result, provider, network (IP) address, platform, app version and installation.
- The server's own log of requests (method, address, result, time taken and your account number; never what you typed, never tokens), kept 14 days to find faults.
- Google Play Integrity checks that requests come from the genuine app on a genuine phone.
The app blocks screenshots on every screen, so profiles cannot be captured from it.
Why we use it
- To sign you in and keep your account and phones secure.
- To let the committee check that every profile is a real Rajput family before anything can be browsed.
- To show your candidate's profile to other verified families, and theirs to you, and to suggest matches from your partner preferences and the samaj's rules on gotra and native villages.
- To deliver interests, replies, committee decisions, event reminders and committee notices.
- To print the profiles registered for a sammelan in its booklet.
- To let the committee look into misuse: the change history, the visit log, the sign-in log and reports.
We do not show advertising, we do not sell or rent your data, and we do not use it for anything other than the purposes above.
Who sees what
- Other families
- Only families whose own profile the committee has verified can browse. They see the profile's facts as your family filled them in, the approved photos (blurred if you chose "accepted interests only", until an interest between you is accepted), and the contact numbers on the profile. They never see your sign-in email, your address or PIN code, your government ID or selfie, the visit log or the change history. Income is shown only if you switch it on, or after an interest between you is accepted. A family you block sees nothing of yours.
- The samaj committee
- Everything above, plus the government ID and the selfie with its GPS position (to decide the verification), the change history, the visit log, the sign-in log and reports. The ID and selfie are opened only by committee members allowed to decide verifications, through a link that expires in five minutes.
- Sammelan booklets
- When you register a profile for an event, it is printed in that event's booklet with its Profile ID; the address you entered is kept for this printing.
- Service providers
- Google (Firebase Authentication, Firebase Cloud Messaging, Play Integrity) and Cloudflare (file storage and delivery) process data only to run these services for the app.
We share data with no one else, except where Indian law requires it.
Where it is kept
- Photos, the government ID and the selfie are stored with Cloudflare R2 in the Asia-Pacific region. The ID and selfie are in a separate private store that is never reachable from the web; photos are delivered only through short-lived signed links.
- Profiles, activity and logs are kept in a PostgreSQL database.
- Sign-in identities and push delivery are handled by Google Firebase.
All traffic between the app and our servers is encrypted (HTTPS).
How long it is kept
- Government ID image
- Deleted 30 days after the committee decides the verification. The decision and its note stay.
- Selfie and its GPS position
- Kept for the committee's check.
- Photo uploads
- The original file is deleted as soon as its copies are made; an upload that is never completed is deleted after a day.
- Notifications
- 180 days.
- The visit log
- Each visit in full for 180 days; after that only a daily count per pair of profiles.
- The sign-in log
- Two years.
- Phones
- A phone not seen for 90 days is removed, with its push token; a push token Google reports as dead is removed at once.
- Server request logs
- 14 days.
- Your profile and activity
- For as long as the account is open. When you close the account it is hidden from everyone at once, but the committee keeps its records; see Close your account.
Your choices and rights
- See and correct: every fact is on My profile in the app and can be edited. After the committee approves a profile, the name, gender, date of birth, native village and gotra are locked: write to the samaj office to correct them. Some changes (photos, marital status, family facts) wait for the committee before others see them.
- Limit: choose who sees your photos, whether income and your last-active time are shown, and which notifications you get, under Settings → Privacy and Settings → Notifications. Block any family from its profile.
- Hide: Settings → Hide my profile hides it from everyone until you bring it back.
- Close: Settings → Close my account, at any time.
- Erase: ask the committee to erase your data, by email or through the samaj office; how it works and what remains is on Close your account.
- Withdraw consent: closing the account withdraws your consent to further processing; erasure removes the data listed there.
- Sign out other phones: Settings → Signed-in devices.
Adults only
Rajput Rishta is for families looking for a marriage partner for an adult. Every candidate must be 18 or older; the app refuses a date of birth that makes the candidate younger.
Changes to this policy
When the samaj guidelines or this policy change in a way that matters, the app asks every member to read and agree to the new version before going on. The date at the top of this page changes with every update.
